Choosing the right box for your food

Matching packaging to the food is the decision that matters most. Hot, oily or saucy dishes need a rigid, grease-resistant container — moulded bagasse and kraft fibre boxes hold heat without warping. Cold salads and deli items are best served in clear PLA or plant-based containers, which let customers see the product. Dry pastries, fruit and bakery items can go in paper plates, kraft paper bags or napkins. Always check the stated temperature range and capacity on each product page, and make sure the volume leaves headroom for lids and closures.

Material buying guide

• Tempered glass — the best scratch and shatter resistance. Choose this unless the device has a curved edge glass cannot cover.
• Privacy glass — blocks side-angle viewing with a micro-louvre filter. Ideal for use on public transport and in shared spaces.
• TPU film — flexible and self-healing, and the only practical option for foldable and curved-edge displays.
